Display Energy Certificates (DECs) are required for public buildings with a total useful floor area over 1,000m2 that are occupied by a public authority or other institution providing a public service.
They show the actual energy usage of a building, known as the Operational Rating, and help the public see it's energy efficiency. This is based on the actual energy consumption of the building as recorded by gas, electricity and other meters. The DEC should be prominently displayed at all times and clearly visible to the public. A DEC is also accompanied by an Advisory Report that lists cost effective measures to improve the energy rating of the property.
Our assessors are fully qualified and accredited to provide Display Energy Certificates for public authorities. Private organisations can also be evaluated and a DEC provided. The information can be used to assess the energy efficiency of their buildings and in assessing the effect of energy saving measures.
